Nestled within the narrow alleys of Messaria, where time flows more gently, lies Messavóli Residences—a restored 18th-century Santorinian mansion, reborn with deep respect for the island’s history and Cycladic architectural heritage.
The name Messavóli is no coincidence: it draws inspiration from both “place” and “path.” Specifically, it originates from “Messaria,” the traditional village at the heart of Santorini where the residence is located, and “vóli,” an old local term used to describe the stone-paved paths that once connected homes and courtyards.
Today, this historic mansion has been thoughtfully transformed into a contemporary residence. In its past life, it functioned as a traditional canava—a wine-making space where Santorini’s renowned wines were once produced. The original wine press is still preserved on-site (specifically within the Canava Residence), serving as a living testament to the island’s rich viticultural legacy.
The recent renovation was carried out with passion and care, honoring every traditional detail while introducing subtle modern touches. The result is a comfortable and authentic accommodation experience that seamlessly blends the charm of the past with the comforts of the present.
